What is CBD?
Cannabidiol—CBD—is a hemp compound that has significant medical benefits, but does have the psychoactivity of THC. The fact that CBD-rich hemp is non-psychoactive or less psychoactive than THC-dominant strains makes it an appealing option for athletes looking for relief from inflammation, pain, anxiety, psychosis, seizures, spasms, and other conditions without disconcerting feelings of lethargy or dysphoria.
Where does CBD come from?
CBD is extracted and separated from specific varieties of hemp. Chemically, CBD is one of 85 chemical substances known as cannabinoids, which are all found in the hemp plant. CBD is the second most abundant compound in hemp, typically representing up to 40% of its extracts.
Is CBD legal?
CBD products from “hemp” strains are legal in all 50 states.
